Take a vacation from your problems.
TGIF.
Translation: Thank goodness it's finals.
Although the thought of finals summons up a sense of impending doom deep within me, these tests mark a very important part of my life. Another semester down, another seven classes out of the way, one step closer to graduation, a career - and most importantly - SUMMER VACATION! Yes there is much studying to be done, and of course the inevitable packing up of my apartment...but really, finals are a necessary evil that usher in a new chapter of my life. When I put that pencil down and walk out of the testing center, I am symbolically applying sunscreen and diving into a pool. It's like packing before a big trip. You don't want to put in the effort of folding all your shirts and pants, but once you do, HELLO! You'll be on vacation! All the hard work you put in before your trip will pay off because you won't have wrinkled clothes. And who wants to bring an iron on vacation? Not me. So let me at that Human Anatomy textbook, cause I've got some serious packing to do.

Cate, this better be one heck of a vacation because my shirts are in need of a whole lot of ironing. I'm going to miss you so so so so so so much! I better get a cool souvenier or something. :)
Very nice writing! I loved the symbolism. I'll miss you this summer.
