Where in the world did Caitlin's tonsils go???

So this is the fabulous picture that was taken about an hour after surgery...the much anticipated tonsillectomy! As you can tell, I look very excited. I remember thinking, "I can't smile!" It's more of a grimace, but what the heck. Can you blame me? I also remember thinking on the drive home, "Who put all these bumps in the road? Seriously...did the people of Florida forget to pay their taxes and did the government forget to pave the streets?" After anesthesia, bumpy roads are not a pleasant experience.

The whole procedure was quite an adventure...it was my first surgery! Everyone was very nice, the nurses, doctors, everyone. The best part was getting away with saying and doing stupid things when I was coming out of the drugs. The first thing I asked the nurse when I woke up was, "TELL ME A JOKE!" Then I kept asking for my "mommy" and might have let a few swear words slip (ooopps!!!). I also promised the nurse I would never do drugs because they made me feel "crazy." :) I bet that nurse gets to hear some pretty crazy things as people come out of surgery!

Since I've been home my family has been wonderful. Mom has treated me like a princess and given me the most delicious banana popsicles ever. Tonight I was overjoyed to finally have some mashed potatoes. I've been dying for some macaroni & cheese...hopefully I'll be ready by tomorrow! :) I've definitely had a lot of time on my hands...I think I've watched a thousand movies since yesterday. "August Rush" is my top recommendation. I watched "Sgt. Bilko" today, with Steve Martin. I forgot how funny that movie is. Watch it!

It was really nice to see all my extended family again...I hope we can all get together again soon. Love you all!

Man's Best Friend

This is our beloved family member of the canine variety...Flossie. I love her. She is getting up there in years...I think she is 10 or 11. The amazing thing is she looks like a puppy, and has as much or more energy than one! She is a great dog and loves our family so much. I wish I took the time to play with her more...she deserves it. One thing is for sure! I am definitely a dog person. Sorry to the rest of the family (and Katherine), but I don't like cats. Dogs rule. Especially my dog, Flossie! Queen of the animal kingdom!
